There are two ways to use the auto-translate feature in the game

The Auto-translate Function: FINAL FANTASY XI has an auto-translate feature. Text entered from the list of common phrases will appear in either English or Japanese, depending on the lostsaga gold version of the game that the player is using.

Using the Auto-Translate Feature - There are two ways to use the auto-translate feature.

Auto-complete. Perform a search on the list of common phrases based on letters you’ve already entered. Words in brackets are category headings. Select a heading to see entries related to that category.

[bullet] Enter the word “Who,” then press Tab. All of the entries beginning with “who” will appear.

When you use this macro, the effects will be displayed in Japanese for players using the Japanese version of the game.
